Wish we were Heroes in the setting sun...

I was at the Annual Feedback Groups Conference down at the Pan Pacific a week ago. It was my first time there and my expectations on how peopla were going to react during the Q&A session were pretty much met.
Most were just voicing their grievences and personal opinion on what needs to be changed. Many were just concerned over money matters, some were overly reacting, and then we have the typical feminist voice. I can easily say that over 50% of those voices from the public were in the wrong forums. They took it as a chance to gain an insight to how the Government was gonna handle matters, just because the Health Minister, Mr Khaw was present.
Anyway, although I had only about 3hrs sleep before, I wasn't particularly sleepy throughout the whole event - probably the 2 cups of coffee did the trick. There was one thing Mr Khaw said that struck me the most as to what the nation needs. He mentioned that the world is in need of foreign talents, and not just Singapore. Judging from the public opinion that morning, I realised what Singapore and the world needs are not talents, or not just talents for that matter.
What we need these days are Heroes. Heroes that project the voice of the people through their actions. Heroes whose voices changes the actions of the people. These Heroes are valiant, steadfast and passionate. A white horse or a white BMW is optional.
Because the world has lost trust of society, we need a face, an action to bring us back to when neccesities were basic and everything else were secondary. We need actions that speaks of selflessness, and we need a figure we can exemplify. Such heroes need not be Neo from the Matrix, or Aragon from LOTR. Such Heroes need only a face we can relate, actions we can learn and a voice we will follow. Such Heroes are what the world needs to believe that we can still hold on to the very last strand of faith that God instills in us - Hope.

Of course by Heroes yall know i do include the female heroes or heroines as well.
