Amidst the Muslim targets

I was watching an episode on 30 days (by Morgan Spurlock, the guy that brought us “Super Size Me”) and this time, it documents an average White Christian American living with an American Muslim family. It shows how he must learn the customs, traditions and the likes of the Muslim culture within those 30 days.
What I learned reestablished the fact that Muslim people are just like every one of us. It is simply because of some radicals that speak of their deluded ‘beliefs’ that spawned a whole new way of how others look at Muslim people on the streets. This is especially so for the average American who seldom get any further from 5ft of their couch, and have so little knowledge about how the rest of the world works, who lives under the assumption that every person with an Arabic look and a beard has got to be a terrorist. But that’s beside the point.
I do have many Muslim friends. All of them have been very kind and hospitable people. What worries me about these condemned terrorists is that they are giving their own religion, and their fellow Brothers and Sisters a very bad name. Many Muslim boys and girls are now being targeted in the recent racial attacks. Had a conversation with my Muslim friends and they seem to think so too; He had his bags and every other details checked thoroughly whilst here in Brisbane! Seriously, just coz he’s Muslim.
Well we had our conversation and I learned that these radicals proclaiming a ‘Holy War’ was in fact misled by their Muslim clerics. He said that a Holy War only happens when the country in question does not allow them Muslims to practice their religion. Furthermore he added that, these radicals are termed terrorist because they go about killing innocent lives instead of fighting the fight with people who are armed.
I guess we all know that this sad series of events would not be over soon, judging from the vicious cycle of killing from both sides, and the kind of manipulation these radicals exercise on the minds of youths. What have we achieved so far for the human race? Nothing if we can’t even stop ourselves from killing each other. We aren’t that civilized.
