My love for Opera - without the Phantom
I have just switched my browser from IE6 to Opera v8.02. I can’t begin to tell you how excited I’ve become. Opera boast of being the fastest browser ever and they boldly hold on to that claim as their leading selling point. Aside from being extremely customizable (which most of us would like to have control, kinda like the TV remote control thingy), it seems that Opera has the least security issues. Only because no known threats have been made and reported that affects Opera. Newbies will be fascinated by the power Opera can release once you get the hang of it. Features include, browser skins, mailing and news service, fully customizable browser window display, and even voice recognition commands! How cool is that! “Battle-station, power up force field to 75%, chart destination to star XF-103, assess damage and warp speed in 5 seconds!”
Microsoft has seemed to just given up on IE6. Endless security issues and updates just don’t cut it. Perhaps it’s the court case that has got them lackadaisical on their aim in taking over the world through bundled software. Nonetheless it seems most websites set their standards to cater towards IE which is understandable. In that sense IE has still got a large foothold on the realms of internet browsers, and it may take some time before other browsers are truly supported. But who cares? For now I’m just happy to be an Opera user-soon-to-be-fanatic. Stand out among the crowd and use Opera, very soon the babe next to you will ask you what cool browser you’re using.
My writings just don’t do justice. Check it out yourself at their website and community.
