Gmail Invites and Gmail Virtual Drive
After reading an article on PC Magazine (Sept Issue) about Gmail, I knew I had to have an account. But I didn’t know where to look coz Gmail accounts are given solely on an ‘invitation’ basis only. Kinda like a red carpet walk into the Emmy’s. So I decided to look around the net, and found some old news about this magnanimous guy who was churning out invites like a waterfall but got shut down because of it, and then there are still some sites which trade invites for something, and some that don’t. Well, I got mine now and the feeling is just powerful! I own a 2.6G mailbox!! Alright, you may not see the point in having that much space but after reading the article, you will know the use of it: To create a virtual online drive. Yes you can store all the data you need in this drive and access it anywhere simply by going into your mail. Isn’t that fantastic?!
All you have to do is to download this program which creates the virtual drive on your computer and read the instructions on how to move your files. You may also wanna create a filter in your Gmail inbox so that files placed in it, does not get mixed with your regular mails (easily identifiable as GMAILFS:
Oh, and by the way Gmail invites are like a lucky draw. Some people have it, some don’t. I used to have 15 when I started. After giving them all out…hehehe…I now have 100!! That’s insane! I have absolutely no idea how that works, but I read somewhere that the invites refreshes itself after a day or two, so it’s best to give them out when you can. So now you can have a Gmail too ;P just leave your email address and I’ll try to send them to you ASAP.
